Billy did his best to wring out his sodden cape, not bothering to look up as Teddy shattered the dunking stool he’d been strapped to and almost drowned with. He spared barely a glance to the self styled Witch Finder, whom Kate was dealing with more than adequately.
He coughed a little and shivered, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. Teddy abandoned the dunking stool and wrapped his arms around Billy, resting his chin on the top of Billy’s head. “You okay?” he asked, not for the first time since the rescue.
“I need a new code name.”
